Zareefa Abdul-Adl

Zareefa Abdul-Adl was born in Baltimore, Md and currently resides in Philadelphia, PA. Growing up in a low-income neighborhood of Baltimore city, she was inspired to start writing dramatic pieces. Zareefa majored in education at Clark University in Atlanta Georgia and after graduating from Tennessee State University in 2010, she was motivated to write her autobiography and share her story to a massive audience. This decision motivated her to go back to school and major in film at RRFC where she received a certificate in screenwriting and directing. She loves the art of filmmaking and believes that its the best form of storytelling through pure vision and creativity. In the past 2 years she's directed, wrote, and produced productions such as Plugged In and The Aftermath, and co-wrote, co-produced, executive produced comedy/drama pilot Layered.
